American Mobile Dermatology was first established in 2003 by Dr James DeVoursney, M.D. with our aging community in mind, especially those residents in facilities and private homes who are unable to travel to an office. We have a knowledgeable and caring medical team who have combined experience in dermatology of over 80 years.
James J. DeVoursney M.D. has served the South Florida community for over 16 years and has gained a mass amount of loyal patient followers. He began his medical career as an RN and worked his way up to becoming a prominent Board Certified Dermatologist. He completed his M.D. at the University of Miami School of Medicine and obtained his residency in the University of Miami Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery and graduated as Chief Resident. He is the proud recipient of the Chancellor’s Award for Academic Achievement in St. George’s University School of Medicine, Chief Resident Award from the University of Miami Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery and the George Ioannides Award in Recognition of Excellence in Resident Dermatology Teaching.
Shelby Snyder, PA-C, received her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, Florida. She also attended the University of Florida for her undergraduate studies where she received a degree in Chemistry. Shelby has been working in dermatology in the South Florida area since 2001 and joined American Mobile Dermatology in 2003. She is an active member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Shelby currently practices in Broward County, Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton.
Henry Ruiz, PA-C, joined the Navy out of high school as a Search and Rescue Paramedic Technician and a Navy SEAL Special Operations Corpsman. During his service in the Navy, Henry received his undergraduate degree in Health Sciences from Campbell University in North Carolina and then went on to East Carolina University for his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. Henry moved to Cape Coral in 2008 and has extensive experience in both dermatology and urgent care. He joined American Mobile Dermatology in 2021 and practices in the Fort Myers and Naples areas.
Sydni Pierson, PA-C, was born and raised in South Florida and is a graduate of the University of Florida School of Physician Assistant Studies. She also received her B.S. in Exercise Physiology from Florida State University. Prior to joining American Mobile Dermatology, Sydni worked as a medical assistant, gaining valuable experience in dermatology and patient care. She is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants. Sydni joined American Mobile Dermatology in 2022 and currently practices in Delray Beach, Boynton Beach and West Palm Beach.
Betty Dunlap, APRN, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who graduated from Florida Atlantic University earning both a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. As a registered nurse, Betty was a cardiovascular, medical and trauma intensive care unit nurse. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Central Florida. Betty began practicing independently as a nurse practitioner in 2014, specializing in medical dermatology and acute care hospital surgical services. She joined American Mobile Dermatology in 2024 and currently practices in Jupiter, Stuart, West Palm and Palm Beach Gardens.
American Mobile Dermatology offers home-bound residents, residents of Assisted and Independent Living Facilities and Skilled Nursing Facilities the opportunity to receive expert dermatology care without leaving the comfort of their home. Skin cancer is on the rise and if caught early can be treated very easily. Therefore, routine skin screening is recommended.
